Description:
Responsible for the overall architecture, perform technical evaluations, integrate COTS & custom applications, define solutions, develop processes, perform system engineering functions (trending, metrics, documentation, computing infrastructure), provide technical leadership to support Customer Satellite and Business-Facing Operations and all Enterprise Services for Intelsat Operations.
Provide framework, architecture, and concepts for High Availability and Disaster Recovery. Provide Windows 2000, HP-UX, Solaris, Windows 2000, and Linux systems administration support. Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis.
DELIVERABLES
- Play a key role in the design of the in-house & 3rd party development, high available architecture and disaster recovery strategies of Intelsat operational systems to provide technical solutions
- Play a key role in providing engineered technical solutions to complex business and enterprise integration problems
- Design and perform trending analysis, and metrics definitions for improved operations
- Evaluate highly complex systems, performance, and issues in order to provide recommendations for improvements
- Ensure consistency of design methodology among operational/GIS projects
- Produce appropriate specifications and support documentation
- Define, implement, and audit highly complex computing infrastructure standards and guidelines for customer's computing environments
- Provide Windows 2000, HP-UX, Solaris, Windows 2000, and Linux systems administration support
- Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis
Requierments:
6 years of experience in Windows and Unix operating environments
- Windows experience should include ADS, Webservers, Sql server, Application center experience, Microsoft Clustering and Load Balancing
- 3 years of experience in system engineering disciplines.
- 3 years of experience in Promotion Model (CM, Imaging, Packaging, Distribution schemes)
- 4 years of experience in 24x7 data center environment
- 2 years of experience in Directory Services and access methodologies ( ADS, LDAP)
- 2 years of experience in network technology, security, and protocols
- 2 years of experience in client server, object-oriented design and development techniques
- 2 years of experience in various Intelsat COTS (Oracle, Remedy, OpenView, Portal, Seibel, Tibco, NetBackup, etc.)
- 2 years of experience in various technologies (EMC, Storage, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, OSS, CRM, NMS, etc)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly
